Photos from 1999

UtahGoth events; Spring '99
Two photos from spring the spring of 1999. The nun photo is me outfit for a fetish party, and the second photo is Anthony and I dressed up for a Utah Goth theme event - we dressed up as '80s New Wavers, and yes, that's how I used to dress back then.

Lindsay Gardens photoshoot; May 1999
Anthony took these of me after the filming for a documentary on GOTHICS. I think I look, uhm, chubby in most of them. That flapper dress makes me look like a column with no waistline. Uhm, yeah... I think this might be the end of ther flappergoth look for me! I look better in corsets! There are more of these pretter but unflattering photos here... and you can see my labret in them!

Anthony, Summer and Fall '99.

Left, top: Anthony being silly and vampy. Very out of character for him, really!

Left, bottom: Dawn had a Bellydance Party in the fall; we hung out, drank, watched bellydance videos, and dressed up in middle eastern garb. We dressed Anthony like a Middle Eastern woman!

Halloween at Tomax; October 1999
For Halloween at work, I was "Silver Dollar" (of the eBusiness Team - how capitalist can you get?) and I made my own cape and skirt. That's NOT my real hair. I was wearing a silver vinyl "corset" (not a real corset, but made to look like one, a silver top, silver gloves, sparkly silver tights, black shiny vinyl knee-high lace-up boots with a 5" heels, some fake hair, and a lot of glitter. I came in a tie for second place for "Most Original," but I think that's because it was so shocking to everyone that I wasn't wearing black. My entire team dressed as Super Heros, a double joke since we are Lotus Notes developers and anyone who had seen the latest Lotus R5 "SuperHuman Software" commercials recognized our joke with the "We Are" sign. Imagine R.E.M. singing "I am superman, and I know what's happening...." We won the group contest, of course - there was only one other group (a Star Wars group) and we've got the team spirit necessary to pull it off. That and we bribed the judges. Ha ha, just a joke - we won it fair and square.

Photos taken by my friend Jeff C. at Area 51. Certainly some of the best candid photos taken of me ever - check out Jeff's site for more great shots.

New Year's Eve, 1999
For New Year's Eve, we holed up at Area 51, just in case the World ended. I painted myself silver for the event. There are more of the photos from that night here...
